Hi, I'm Tom.
I'm a technology enthusiast, programmer, mathematician and amateur chef.
My mission is to improve the world and humanity's future through technology.
My primary thesis is that we're just scratching the surface of what can be done with software, AI and computation.
I am interested in and fascinated by advanced technology - atoms and bits - such as AI, robotics, aerospace, batteries, biotech, and software at scale. I try to apply my skills and resources to accelerate these areas, and encourage optimism, technological progress, energy abundance, rapid iteration, equality of opportunity and meritocracy.
In my career, I've had the opportunity to work with friends, learn from amazing mentors and tackle some very interesting problems.
- most recently, I've scaled drug discovery pipelines to billions of molecules and hundreds of GPUs
- I am the technical co-founder of a data-driven art investment startup, where I build websites, data pipelines, ML algorithms and manage contractors
- I bootstrapped the entire technology stack of a small trading team in an award-winning multi-billion-dollar quant hedge fund
- I managed and troubleshot critical live processes with millions of dollars on the line for global corporations and hedge funds
I like to challenge myself, by trying new things, taking on new quests, seeking out diverse opinions. I am drawn to individuals with whom I can have thoughtful disagreements about various topics, ranging from technology, predictions about future progress, macroeconomics and world events.
